How to Create Public Booking Links and QR Codes?

This article explains how public booking links and QR codes can be created and used.

Public booking links provide an easy way for prospective clients to book your services.

You can share the booking link digitally or generate a QR code that customers can scan with their phones.

Customers do not need to already be registered Schemon users to start the booking process.

Open Public Booking

First, make sure you are in the Provider View.

You can switch to it using the blue briefcase button at the top-right of the screen.

Then:

  1. Open Schedule.

  2. Select Public Booking.

The Public Booking page displays the booking links and QR codes you have previously created.

Create Booking Links for Your Services

Public booking links are associated with specific services.

To create a new link, first select the service you want customers to book.

You can create more than one public link for the same service. This is useful because different links can be used for different marketing channels.

For example, you could have separate links for:

  • Your website

  • Instagram

  • Facebook

  • Email campaigns

  • Printed flyers

  • Your office QR code

Label Your Booking Links

Add a descriptive label when creating the link. Instead of using a generic name such as "Test," use a label that explains where the link will be used.

Examples:

  • Instagram Intake

  • Website Booking

  • Office QR

  • Facebook Campaign

  • Email Signature

Clear labels make it much easier to understand where individual booking links are being used.

Use Different Links for Tracking

Creating separate links for different channels can help you understand where customers are coming from.

For example, you could use one booking link on your website and another one in an advertisement. When a customer books through a particular link, you have a better indication of which channel generated that booking.

Choose an Email Verification Setting

When creating a public booking link, you can decide whether customers must verify their email address.

Verified Booking

With verified booking, customers confirm their email address as part of the booking process. This can help reduce spam and makes it more likely that you have a valid email address for future communication.

A verified email can be particularly useful if you need to:

  • Contact the customer

  • Reschedule the appointment

  • Ask for additional information

  • Send appointment-related communication

Open Booking

Open booking provides a faster booking experience because additional email verification is not required. You may choose this when you trust the source of the bookings or want to reduce friction as much as possible.

For most public links, email verification can provide useful additional protection against invalid or unwanted bookings.

Create and Activate the Link

Once everything is configured, click Create and Activate Link.

Schemon immediately creates:

  • A public booking URL

  • A QR code

Share the Booking Link

You can copy the booking URL and share it anywhere you use digital content. For example:

  • Your website

  • Instagram

  • Facebook

  • LinkedIn

  • Emails

  • Email signatures

  • Digital advertisements

  • Direct messages

Customers can open the link and begin booking the associated service.

Download and Use the QR Code

You can also download the generated QR code. QR codes are especially useful for physical or visual marketing materials such as:

  • Business cards

  • Flyers

  • Posters

  • Brochures

  • Office signage

  • Reception desks

  • Event materials

They can also be used on websites and in email signatures.

When a prospective customer scans the QR code, they are taken directly to the booking experience for the associated service.

Customers Can Book Without an Existing Account

A prospective customer does not have to already be a registered Schemon user before opening your public booking link.

They can start the booking process through the link or QR code and complete any necessary account steps later.

Public booking links therefore provide a convenient way to turn your website, social media, advertising, email communication, and physical marketing materials into direct channels for new bookings.
